Opening up for Afro-Latin sensation Julie Chikane, we proudly present;
The mesmerising world of Adama Janlo, a powerhouse vocalist whose soulful voice has been hailed as "the most powerful and energetic soul voice" by renowned music journalist Rolf E. Wulluf. With a diverse musical range spanning blues, R&B, and neo soul, Adama Janlo captivates audiences with her raw talent and emotional depth.

In a groundbreaking moment, Adama Janlo unveiled her debut EP "Misaligned" last year, a musical masterpiece that garnered a perfect 10/10 rating from Musikknyheter. The EP's release concert at Kulturhuset was a monumental success, selling out to a captivated audience eager to experience Janlo's soul-stirring performance.

Prior to this milestone, she enchanted a full house at Uhørt with an intimate concert that left a lasting impression on all in attendance.

Building on her success, Janlo recently released the soulful single "Overcome," captivating listeners with her emotive lyrics and powerful vocals. Her release concert at Oslo Camping on April 26th once again drew a packed crowd, showcasing her undeniable stage presence and musical prowess. In a bold move beyond music, Janlo made her acting debut in the Norwegian Opera Ballett production "My Story: Hope Road 56 Revisited," a testament to her versatility and artistic exploration.

Blackness and Queerness is a multi-dimensional existence that encompasses a rich spectrum of experiences, challenges, and triumphs. Our 60-minute panel discussion, incl. Q&A, aims to narrow in on the nuanced intersectionality of Blackness and Queerness, exploring how these identities coalesce to shape the lived experiences of individuals who are part of these communities.

Join us for a compelling conversation with an eclectic ensemble of Black Queer voices – community leaders, activists, artists, and professionals, each bringing their own unique perspective to the table. Our panelists will unpack a variety of crucial topics. They will share insights on the journey of self-expression within spaces that are often characterised by white, heteronormative norms, revealing what it means to be authentically oneself in professional environments and beyond.
